If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.

Welcome! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Carrie Roerig and I am the first grade teacher here at St. Agnes School.  This is my sixth year at St. Agnes and fifth year teaching first grade.  I am so excited to be teaching the first grade this year, and feel very blessed for the opportunity!  I have lived in Vermillion for eight years. I am originally from Brookings.  I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in elementary education with endorsements in Early Childhood, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.  Before attending USD, I attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence for three years.  Go Jayhawks!  I also hold a Master’s degree at the University of Sioux Falls in the Leadership in Reading program with an endorsement as a Reading Specialist.

I have truly enjoyed spending my summer time with my 4 year old son, Conner Joseph and my 20 month old son Grant Nicholas.  We also welcomed Macy, a 12 week old Yellow Lab to our family mix, which has been fun.  I have learned that there is little difference between puppies and toddlers!  They share many of the same behaviors!  My husband Tony and I are also very happy to announce that we will be expecting our third baby at the end of March.  A lot of changes in one year!
